After the Snowstorm

Beautiful Snow Covered Landscape
I took this nature photograph after a snow storm. It was bitter cold, but I had been desperate to get outside and do some personal photography instead of my normal portrait photography for my clients.
The biggest challenge was keeping warm and keeping my digital camera warm. The lithium batteries in my Canon 5d lose power quickly when the temperature drops. I shot about 200 photos in a 2 hour span.
The sun was trying to break through the clouds. I am a nature geek, so I just stood there a few minutes and enjoyed this scene.
I composed the photograph using the rule of thirds for placement of the sun and the secondary interest point, the snow-covered red house barely recognizable in the distance.
I did my photo editing in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and came away from my chilly photo-shoot with about 20 images that I was very happy with. I should try to sell some of my nature prints, but I like to enjoy some of my photography without financial gain.
