Green Bee Eater - Thol Lake, Mehsana, Guajarat

Three hours of hard work and eventually I was rewarded with this shot. Three days I was after this. Somehow the idea struck my mind that I needed to create my own perch??

After collecting some twigs and arranging them in a natural way, I lay on the floor for three hours waiting for this short moment. I was very close to the subject...it is not an easy task to do without a hide or some concealment. It is not always possible to get this close to small birds. But somehow I was lucky to have this shot.

I bought a Sigma 170-500mm dg. It doesn't have an Image Stabilizer, which is the sad part. I didn't use a lens converter and deliberately arranged the twigs..so that I could get a nice depth of field..:)
