I own a SONY DSC-S700 Cyber-shot. I bought it about a year and a half ago online from Best Buy. I had searched many different sites for digital cameras and found a cheap one with good reviews on bestbuy.com. My previous camera had 3.5 megapixels and I wanted something that had more.
This camera, the SONY DSC-S700 Cyber-shot, has 7.2 megapixels. So far, my impression of this camera has been that it is adequate, but not amazing. I use it primarily for capturing events such as birthday parties, dinners with friends, weddings, etc. I have never taken a photography class, so I don’t know anything about lighting.
There are 10 different settings on my camera and I think I have maybe used two. It appears that there are settings for outdoors, snow shots, nighttime, etc., but I have never even attempted to use them.
I think it’s because when I go to take a picture, I want to capture a moment right then, and don’t think about the setup very much. I do like how easy it is to download the photos to my computer or eject the card to print out the pictures.
For some reason, I seem to have problems with the batteries. I use rechargeable batteries, but they don’t seem to last very long. My camera is relatively light and portable. I keep it in a small, lined bag that protects it pretty well.
It does seem to scratch pretty easily as the viewing screen now has several small scratches on it. If I had to buy another digital camera, I would probably buy this one again. As someone who isn’t very experienced with photography, it’s simple to use, takes decent photos and is easy to carry around.
The price was about $100, which I think is very reasonable for a digital camera and I would definitely recommend it to my friends.
