Steve Sasson, a Kodak engineer, and his team that worked in the Kodak
Apparatus Division Research Laboratory in 1975, designed the first
Kodak digital camera although it was anything but compact.
An odd collection of circuits and plugs, the camera used a lens from a
Super 8 movie camera and a digital cassette recorder as a memory card.
Sixteen nickel-cadmium batteries were required to power the unit.
High Performance Image
Sensors Are Born
After the first Kodak digital camera was developed, it took thirty
years to perfect the unit by use of high-performance image sensors that
are now used in everything from your own handheld portable digital
camera to satellite and medical imaging.
The full-frame charged-coupled device (CCD) technology began with Kodak
and has remained a leader in superior image quality.
Kodak digital cameras are good examples of interline CCD imagers that
can deliver up to 11 million pixels and do not require a mechanical
shutter.
Many times surveillance cameras will select Kodak CCD imagers for a
clear view of activity taking place in shadows and dim light.
These features may sound simple to duplicate but very few companies
have the desire to be the best like Kodak.
Sleek And Stylish Kodak Digital Cameras
Their current models prove that technology will never stop in offering
the most updated and technically advanced cameras that are possible.
A good example is the Kodak EasyShare line. In a mobile and Internet
savvy world with Facebook and YouTube, capturing those rare scenes can
give you downloads in real time to be the first to compliment your page
with news.

confidence to shoot almost anything. These are the best
