About a year ago I got a Nikon D5000 at a local camera store. I only used the camera for about a month. The camera works best outdoors in good lighting. The lens that comes with the camera is cheap and slow, and for this reason, the low light performance is not very good.
The Nikon D5000 digital camera has good grips and is comfortable to hold. It is also a very lightweight camera so you don't get tired carrying it around.
One of the things I really like about the Nikon D5000 DSLR is having the ability to record HD video. It only records 1280x720 video, which is not full hd, and several Canon cameras can record full HD 1920x1080 video.
However, if your looking for an entry level DSLR with a great feature set, this might just be the camera for you.
